They are mostly there for ping tests (demo servers).
We don't want to compete with community and client servers for population, though it seems some stay full quite a bit without admins.
Do you think lowering the max player count would be a positive impact on the community for the demo servers?
If you know any Goons looking to get an AoS server, I could transfer the demo server to them and just spawn a new small demo server for that location.
Let me know what you think.
Hey Jest, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you!
If you want my honest opinion on it, I don't think lowering your playercount is going to help very much at all. It may make it seem as though your servers are only suitable to hold fewer players at a time (which is not what you want). Plus, that still won't solve your administration problem. Lowering your playercount will cause you to lose more. If you ask me, I think you should just give partial control over to someone who's willing to volunteer to sponsor you and preserve the name of your demo servers without any sort of obligation. That way, your servers might at least leave a good impression on potential customers who are reserved about where they're going to spend their money. The most loyal customers are always the hardest ones to reel in.
Although we'd love to, Goon Haven can't accept any of your demo servers. We're already spread really, really thin as it is! We simply do not have enough admins to cover such an expanse.
Good luck, man.
